INCOMA, acquired by BERGI OFB in 1997, has designed, built and
marketed leather processing machines and equipment ever since it
was founded in 1965. The INCOMA operations and production base is
located in Thiene in Vicenza province near the major leather manufacturing
centre of Arzignano.
The prestigious brand name, known worldwide, has achieved recognition
ever since the 1970's for the introduction of the multi-table sandwich
type vacuum dryer into the market place. Rising customer demand
resulted in high factory output rates of this machine, rapidly leading
to a major expansion of its manufacture with the factory production
area extended to 4,000 mē.
In the span of two decades the number of dryers built exceeded
2,000 units, all put into service in more than 50 countries worldwide.
INCOMA further became recognised for its rollcoating machinery
for leather finishing, which began to replace rotary spraying machines
in the early 1970's, thanks to the savings in chemical products
and the reduction of atmospheric emissions resulting from the adoption
of this new technology.
These two groups of machines continue to be the mainstay of Incoma
production.
After years of consolidation and sustained production, the technology
arrived at a high degree of reliability to the point where it became
a reference standard for competitors, who at that time were still
at the development stage. INCOMA was the entrepreneurial fountainhead
inspiring today's vacuum dryer construction.
To keep up with the times and to make the most of the high technology
becoming available in the late 1990's, INCOMA decided to set up
its own research and development organisation. Imaginative and competent
professionals staffing it have the capacity to develop new ranges
of highly competitive products to further advance the prestigious
brand name to be a reference point for the future. The machines
now in production completely fulfilling set objectives are presented
in the following pages.
